Even the uncle who can tell stories for hours doesn’t want to sit with a bunch of strangers on a beautiful afternoon waiting for the event to continue. So, what are your options? How about these 5 tips to keep your wedding going smoothly:

Provide a Cocktail Hour Area

-Provide cocktails and refreshing beverages: Pick one creative drink to serve up, along with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options.

-Casual music: Music relaxes people, and brings back fond memories to laugh about. Make a simple mix on an iPod, hook it up to some portable speakers, and place in the cocktail area.

-Appetizers: Your guests will likely have gone hours without eating. Always provide some sort of food throughout the event, especially if people are drinking.

Dear Lovely,
A few days in. Let the new year sink in before I begin this reflection. As the time passes, I stop making resolutions. Many of them have been promises I can’t keep. And who am I promising these things to, my true self or the person I’d like to be? I’ve got some decades under my wings…a few notches on my belt. I know what’s what. So why not just keep it real. I am who I am with all my faults and quirks. All my shortcomings and regrets. I can say that this year I’ll try harder than the last and be better than I have in the past. But when all those words have gone, guess who will still be here? The same old me. I say this not as a pessimist. I just like to be honest with myself.

Some days ago I was having brunch with a good friend. We’re sitting at the bar and she’s doing her best to take a photo of our food. Picture after picture and there was always something a little off about each one. I could see the many patrons of the restaurant looking at us, some with confusion while others seemed to be laughing to themselves. Recently we were at Jillian and Brandon’s wedding in Beverly Hills!  They were married at the Greystone Mansion, which might I add was gorgeous! We used the scenery of the venue to create and amazing backdrop in there fireplace room!  There was so much history in the room documenting each step in building the Greystone Mansion and all the history.  The rich blue and white contrast just made for a beautiful backdrop.  Also the bride and groom chose to go for a propless photo booth, and that didn’t stop the guests from getting creative!  Brandon has this amazing collection of old cameras and film cameras that were displayed on the mantle.  Not only were they awesome in the background but also made for some cool impromptu props in the photos.  Check out some photos from the booth!
